An ancient mansion between history and nature
In Finale Ligure, in the charming monumental area of Perti above the walled town of Finalborgo, lies this exclusive residence of about 500 sq. m., surrounded by greenery and embellished by breathtaking panoramic views on every side.
Located about 3 km as the crow flies from the sea (6 km by road), this residence occupies a small plateau that is set apart from the monumental Rocca di Perti, offering a unique view: from the Ligurian Sea to the limestone cliffs of the Eagle Valley, the landscape tells a thousand-year history of nature and civilization.
A place steeped in history
Within a radius of only 1,500 meters, extraordinary historical evidence is concentrated, from the Pollera Cave with Neolithic burials to the Castrum Perticae with its Byzantine tower, to the early Christian crypt of Sant´Eusebio and the vestiges of the Marquisate of Finale, visible in the Walled City and the Castles of Finalborgo.
Reaching the property is an evocative experience: one travels along the Via della Regina, built in 1666 for the passage of Margaret Theresa of Habsburg, skirting Castel Gavone to the access located next to the splendid Church of Nostra Signora di Loreto known as “dei Cinque Campanili“ considered the finest example of Renaissance architecture in Liguria. The Church of the Five Campaniles (1488-1490) was built on the occasion of the wedding between Alfonso I del Carretto and Peretta Cybo, niece of Pope Innocent VIII and later bride of Andrea Doria. Its author was inspired by the Portinari Chapel in Sant´Eustorgio in Milan. The façade, in Finale stone and brick, creates a delicate play of colors and vertical soars that culminate in the five spires that give it its name, making it one of the most refined works of the Ligurian Renaissance.
The residence
The farmhouse, built around an ancient watchtower, is on two levels with a total area of about 450 square meters. The building has been carefully renovated and is partly used as a residence and partly for charming tourist accommodation. The property includes five suites with private bathrooms, a master apartment, living room, kitchen, several storerooms and 6,000 sq. m. of land with parking lots, swimming pool, sauna, olive grove, citrus grove and the beautiful terraces with pergolas facing the sea. A 12-kw photovoltaic system with 15-kw storage batteries is in operation to serve the farmhouse utilities and produce domestic hot water with the dedicated heat pump with 1,000 liters of storage.
The ground floor contains the large living room with fireplace (about 90 sq. m.), reception, bathroom, private dining area, and professional kitchen with pantry compartment. The thermal equipment room has access from the outside. With independent access there is also the pink suite characterized by the vaulted ceilings of the ancient tower and having a living room, bedroom, bathroom and a beautiful terrace-garden with a panoramic view to the sea.
On the second floor there is the master apartment with bedroom, bathroom, large living room and the panoramic terrace with a splendid view over the Eagle Valley to the sea. The second entrance leads to the guest area, consisting of four suites with private bathrooms: the blue with private living room, the green, orange and lavender with double terrace overlooking the sea.
The outdoor spaces - the land of about 6,000 square meters houses a large parking area, courtyards with tables and benches, stone paths, olive grove, citrus grove, vegetable garden and large terraces with pergolas facing the sea. In the area close to the forest we find the beautiful sauna near the ping-pong tables. Among the olive trees and Mediterranean scrub, the main courtyard welcomes the elevated swimming pool, with the spectacular view of the imposing cliffs of the Perti valleys and the Eagle Valley.
The property, stacked as a civil residence, can be used immediately as an exclusive private home for one or more families, or maintained as a high-level accommodation facility, already appreciated for years by guests from Northern Europe.
