LARGE SIZE BUILDING COMPLEX
In Alezio we offer for sale a large building complex with main entrance from Via Rocci Perrella and with secondary entrance from Largo Fiera near the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Lizza. Initially the building was used as a press for both lampante and edible oil until the third decade of the 20th century, then after a long period it was used as a tobacco dryer and finally from the 60s to the 90s as a stable and sheepfold . Developed on different levels also considering the shape of the land, in the basement there is an underground oil mill of around 500 m2 probably built in the first half of the 19th century, on the ground floor and part of the first floor there are storage rooms for olives (sciave) and pomace, stable, kitchen, dormitories and woodshed for a surface area of approximately 700 m2 and finally on the second floor 350 m2 intended for the factory itself. The construction typology is typical of the Salento buildings of the period, with masonry made of tuff ashlars and stone roofs sometimes of the corner, square, barrel type and in some rooms of the oil mill dug directly into the rock.
