I hope this mine may find you in perfect health.
I would like, with a heart filled with joy and admiration, to tell you about a visit I recently paid to our dear cousin Dagobert, who has finally completed his new residence in Cesena.
A magnificent mansion, situated in a location that has no equal. Very close to the roads that connect Ravenna to Rome, but, at the same time, immersed in the most absolute silence and lush greenery. You would never imagine that such a haven of peace is only a ten-minute walk from the historic center of the city, so much so that the property is isolated and protected from the surrounding nature.
The villa stands on the banks of the river Savio, enjoys an absolutely favorable climate, so much so that the summer is always refreshed by a light breeze, while the winter is gently protected by the tall plants that adorn the garden. Indeed, the entire estate, which covers more than 15,000 square meters, is surrounded by groves of oak trees and carefully chosen trees that create an atmosphere of tranquility and freshness that could not be more ideal.
The park surrounding it is a veritable green treasure chest, where every corner exudes a peace that few places can boast. Upon entering the villa, I found the perfect combination of a dwelling worthy of our noble family, and the ingenuity of our dear cousin who found a way to structure it so as to accommodate his four children each in his own personal apartment.
On the ground floor Juliette and Dagoberto have reserved for themselves what is an enchantment of lightness and freshness, made entirely of wood and fabric, with rooms adorned with French-style woodwork. A great room with a fireplace provides the perfect atmosphere for warmer days, thanks in part to an oak veranda reminiscent of Tuscan lemon houses.
Going up to the second floor, he thought of sweet Henriette with a large apartment with spacious rooms, polished oak floors, and walls decorated with French wallpaper. From one window you can glimpse the Rocca di Cesena fortress, from another the riverbank that meanders along the property.
Also on the second floor, he also placed Clotilde, for her a true masterpiece of elegance. The scagliola-painted walls and walnut ceilings capture the attention and offer a stately setting, with an enchanting view of the park and surrounding hills.
The second floor the brightest and most colorful attic, with two double bedrooms all enhanced by skylights that flood every corner with natural light ,the bright colors and fine details were designed for the eccentric Umberto.
For young Giambattista, on the other hand, he transformed a single large room into four rooms, with a kitchen-living room that overlooks the sunset, illuminated by the golden light of the last hours of the day.
I cannot help but admire the wisdom in having created a dwelling that satisfies daily needs located in a perfect place for a quiet retreat, far from the world.
