PRESTIGIOUS VINTAGE BUILDING
Palazzo Ravenna, located in the picturesque Piazza Umberto I in Parabita, represents a prestigious example of neoclassical architecture. Built in the mid-nineteenth century, this building stands on the foundations of older structures, previously used as warehouses and warehouses. This change not only reflects the evolution of architectural taste, but also the socio-economic progress of Parabita during that period. Initially owned by the Elia family, the palace was subsequently expanded to accommodate the marriage between Tommaso Ravenna, originally from Gallipoli, and Annetta Elia. The imposing façade of the building features decorative elements such as columns and frames in Lecce stone, typical of the area. The interiors feature high ceilings and marble floors, with frescoes adorning the walls and ceilings. The building is also known for its large atrium and the monumental staircase that leads to the upper floors, where there are decorated and spacious rooms. Throughout its history, Palazzo Ravenna has witnessed many historical events, seeing several generations pass by, each leaving their own mark on the structure and the community.
