I still remember the day I went to the movies with my mother to see Titanic. Sitting next to her, as the screen filled with majestic images and intertwined destinies, I had the feeling that I was watching not just a movie, but a fragment of my own family history. In that story I saw my grandparents again: she, beautiful and wealthy, who had left Italy with her family to join her father who had moved his business to New York; he, young, Irish, orphaned too early and driven by courage and necessity to seek his fortune in America. They met on the RMS Olympic, Titanic´s decidedly luckier sister ship, and from that meeting a new life was born. Many years later, on a seemingly ordinary summer afternoon, that story knocked on my door again. A friend, joking about my name-Mario, with the inevitable nickname “Super Mario“-said to me laughingly, “Look on ESPN, they´re talking about Campobasso, Mark Consuelos and his wife Kelly Ripa the two actors are among the owners of the town´s soccer team and they made a documentary.“ A light sentence, thrown in without much thought. Yet, in that instant, something lit up. I hurried to turn on the TV and on the screen scrolled images of Mark and Kelly viewing a villa in Oratino my grandmother´s town.... Like a bolt from the blue I realized that I had to look overseas, to move forward....I had to go back, to my roots. Buy a property in Italy. That was how I first saw this mansion. Although the temptation to call it a mansion is strong, this villa among others stood out in my mind for its natural, quiet elegance, capable of going far beyond what the market usually offers. It struck me not by ostentation, but by balance. It is one of those houses that does not seek attention: they get it. Every detail tells a conscious choice. The architecture dialogues with the landscape, the spaces are large and bright, the sunlight accompanies the day gliding over the surfaces of the facade and changing their colors hour after hour. The interior, spread over three floors in addition to the basement, covers about 650 square meters and offers cozy rooms designed to be truly lived in. It is an ideal home for family life, but also perfect for welcoming guests, friends, and travelers looking for an authentic place to stay. From the large openings, the gaze opens onto a panoramic view that embraces Campobasso, the surrounding villages and the Matese mountains. It is a panorama that invites quiet, that gives silence and time. Reinforcing this feeling is the construction quality, which is very high: carefully chosen materials, fine finishes, solutions designed to last. A value that goes beyond the economic investment and speaks directly to lifestyle. Located in Oratino, nestled in a private park of more than one hectare, the villa offers privacy and tranquility without sacrificing the convenience of city services, reachable in a few minutes. Here town and country find a rare balance. The large porch, swimming pool and garden designed by a landscape architect become spaces for meeting, relaxing, sharing. It is not simply a home. It is a return. It is continuity. It is a story that, like my grandparents´, is born from a journey... and chooses to stop in the right place.
