Leucais a name that derives dalgrecoλευκός (leukós), meaning “white,“ and is common to other toponyms such asLèucade, islandagreca. According toStrabone, promontory originally named by the Greek name τα Λευκά (ta Leuká, the Whites), probably for the white rocks perpendicular to the sea.
