Villa Templare: A Luxury Oasis in the Heart of Salento
Nestled in the enchanting landscape of the Salento countryside, in the Petrose district of the Municipality of Sava (province of Taranto), just five minutes from the crystal-clear waters and golden beaches of Campomarino di Maruggio and about twenty-five minutes from Porto Cesareo, stands Villa Templare. This rural hamlet, reinterpreted in a modern key by Architect Giuseppe Milizia, with contributions from Designer Angelo Lomartire and Architect Michelangelo Tria, harmoniously blends tradition and innovation.
Located in a pristine natural reserve between the municipalities of Sava, Torricella, and Manduria, the district is surrounded by lush Mediterranean vegetation. Centuries-old olive trees, maritime pines, rosemary, and prickly pears perfume the air, creating an atmosphere of tranquility and harmony.
The restoration work has transformed ancient farmhouses into exclusive residences, replacing the original stones with light-colored tuff, a noble local material from the historic Tremola quarries. This approach has preserved the historical essence of the place while enhancing the charm and elegance typical of Mediterranean villas.
A Deep Connection with History and Nature
Villa Templare is set in a unique cultural and historical context. Its proximity to Manduria, the city of Primitivo wine and the ancient capital of the Messapians, makes the area particularly evocative, with expanses of vineyards and centuries-old olive trees stretching as far as the eye can see. The project, conceived with respect for local traditions, led to the renovation of old farmhouses in a contemporary and functional style, while preserving the essence of the past.
Not far from the villa is a recently restored Templar chapel and a Templar route that contributes to creating a mystical and fascinating atmosphere. Additionally, near the property, there is an unexplored natural cavity, further enhancing the allure of the location.
Elegance and Comfort Without Compromise
Villa Templare spans approximately 13,000 square meters of land, with a living area of about 250 square meters and outdoor areas including large wooden gazebos, totaling around 200 square meters. The villa features five tastefully furnished bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a fitness area with a sauna and outdoor shower, and two storage rooms used for laundry and pantry. The outdoor spaces are enriched by a private pool, relaxation areas, and a large barbecue zone.
The interiors, meticulously curated by architects Milizia and Tria, reflect a perfect balance between elegance and simplicity. The natural finishes, color choices, and use of high-quality materials such as local wood and stone create a harmonious continuity between the villa’s interior and the surrounding landscape.
A Unique Investment in a Land of Timeless Beauty
This exclusive project represents not only a prestigious residence but also a unique opportunity to live in harmony with the unspoiled nature and millennial history of Salento. The Mediterranean villas of Villa Templare are an example of how modern architecture can enhance the historical and natural heritage of an extraordinary territory.
