According to data collected by Terranostra Coldiretti, the most important national agricultural association for rural tourism, the environment and the territory, more than 6.5 million tourists who chose to spend their summer holidays on a farm in 2016.
The regions that have attracted the highest number of tourists in the summer were those of the South: Apulia, Campania, Sicily and Calabria, where have poured Italian visitors, but also the Germans and French who like rural tourism campaign Italian to that of their home countries.
