An eco-friendly luxury residence "covered" by solar panels is an ambitious and extremely innovative project, which should see the light in Egypt on the outskirts of the capital Cairo around 2019, for a total investment of 4 million and a half pounds. This green building, whose internal surface will amount to 450,000 square meters, will include a thousand homes, a shopping center, various offices and a five-star hotel. It is therefore a completely eco-friendly mega-complex, under the banner of energy saving, respect for nature and alternative energy that is not only destined to change the face of the city and to move the economy of the country, but above all to demonstrate to the rest of the world how it is possible to build such a giant without violating nature in any way.
The prestigious real estate project involves the construction of eight buildings of the same shape and size, each of which is spread over twelve levels. In place of the roof there will be many photovoltaic panels that will guarantee plenty of light and current to the tenants of the various homes. The houses can therefore be heated and cooled at no cost, using solar energy and reducing the cost of bills. Pools and hanging gardens complete the design of this extraordinary building, in which internal courtyards will also include vegetable gardens, sports fields and orchards, to the delight of apartment buildings with a green thumb.
Another peculiarity of the residence The Gate will be the so-called Wind catchers, real wind turbines shaped like a vortex that will be installed in the middle of the buildings. They will serve to convey the air, to ensure constant ventilation in the area, and to produce the energy that the houses will need. Everything inside the apartments will obviously be controlled through advanced environmentally friendly domotics.
