Tuorlo Design Studio is a young design studio in Florence that deals with product and communication and works in collaboration with Italian artisan companies, with whom it develops its products by following the entire production process. Design products with a strong emotional charge that are distinguished by one maniacal attention to detail and the highest quality of construction; able to tell stories and able to fit into the domestic environment with poetic sweetness and feminine lightness. This is how Setacci Contemporanei takes life, a collection of totems and small sculptures in white ceramic inspired by the peasant culture. For this reason it was decided to leave some parts of the totem biscuit, experimenting on the texturization of the external surface, scratching it in two different ways and trying to evoke the straw braided characteristic of the sieves. Each totem is double-sided: depending on of the chosen orientation, they can be transformed into a vase or statue, or container centerpiece; a real family of objects, ideal for furnishing restaurants and hotels. Instead, it is inspired by the Mole Antonelliana, Turin, a collection of glass plates and wooden underplates whose decoration, shown on objects, is intended as a tribute to the monumental building symbol of the Piedmontese capital and one of the symbols of Italy. In the case of dishes, the decoration is placed in the lower part so that it does not spoil with wear and contact with food. Each plate is accompanied by his plate, a companion with whom he gives life to the definitive decoration: each piece lives and is realized through each other. Another object so dear to our grandmothers is instead Sfiorata, a collection of doors white or powdered enamel ceramic jewelry, crowned with a flower modeled entirely by hand. A feminine accessory to keep for themselves or a little joy to give away. It is inspired by the first antique candlesticks, the so-called lies, Cucchiaio Bugiardo, a two-colored porcelain candle holder whose concave part has been glazed in order to better reflect the light. A modern reinterpretation that translates into a small lie with the shape of the spoon; a design product that nicely deceives, destined to reveal itself on occasions such as dinners, conversations, meetings, circumstances in which will light up the evening with his accomplice and involving brightness.
