A small jewel is hidden in one of the most sought-after and prestigious locations of the Vicenza area, a precious stone resulting from the artistic genius of Architect Bassani and the will of the highly esteemed and respected Dr. Ferretto, a jewel meant to combine tradition and innovation.
The entrance, characterized by a large iron gate, immediately reflects and transmits the imposing and powerful character of the entire property; certainly an imposing and impressive character, still fully respectful of the Italian tradition where hospitality and a warm welcome are always a must.
Entering the property, you will be greeted by a lush and varied vegetation behind which lies a farmhouse of 80 sq. meters, currently housing the caretakers. The farmhouse consists of a comfortable living area, two bedrooms and a full bathroom; the outside includes a porch with a dedicated BBQ zone and, nearby, a small cabin for the storage of garden tools.
Leaving the farmhouse onto the right and continuing along the driveway leading to the main house, you will find a sequence of Magnolias, Lime Trees and Maple Trees dating back to the 1970s. These trees are, still nowadays, an essential part of the original construction and gardening project. The landscaping and gardening designs were conceived and developed by Ferrante Gorian. The large green area preceding and leading to the dominical house blends in the general picture and naturally becomes an integral part of the whole project. The result of true cooperation between Architect and Client finds here a clear example, the whole process being conceived and developed following, clearly so, a Nordic inspiration.
Once past the parking area, flanking the house, you'll find the main entrance, a solid wooden door with décors. The visitor can immediately feel good vibes of welcome, simply by walking on the marvelous tile floor of the residence. Each tile is decorated in relief and flanked by another of different color; the dichromy generated by the white-celadon contrast gives birth to a design recalling Gothic styles, styles typical of Vicenza's tradition and reminescent of its history as part of Venice's, the "Serenissima", dominion. The general picture of the floor vividly recalls plant compositions, and the plants designed on tiles almost naturally inspire a dialogue between the outside and the inside. The warm and elegant entrance hall gives access to a number of rooms, the first of which being the vestibule. A solid wooden sliding door - like all doors on the ground floor made of single, solid wood sheets - gives access to a double living room. Light is here king; large windows around the perimeter open up to nature and to an enchanting view. High ceilings, a sixteenth-century fireplace, and a red-white dichromate floor with floral motifs are characterstics of the two living rooms. Here you can host large parties but, at the same time, create and keep an intimate, warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Foldable wooden doors in the living room give access to the dining room, where a huge, rectangular table dominates the scene. A number of glass doors behind the table give visual and physical access to the portion of garden located on the back of the property and/or to the green-house located on the side. In addition, a small dining room, with a round table, serves as antechamber of the kitchen. Three bedrooms, two full bathrooms and a walk-in closet complete the spaces available on the ground floor.

The entire perception of the building changes when moving from the ground floor, intended for representative and residential use, to the first floor. Here you'll find rooms of various kinds; the ironing and laundry room, a game room with a pool table, two bedrooms and a full ****** pool room gives access to a large terrace heading north, overlooking the outdoor area dedicated to barbequeing.
In addition to a regular stairway, a beautiful wooden loft located on top of the living room connects the first and the ground floors. From here, you may choose to move down to the living room or enter the most intimate and prestigious room of the entire house: the study. The 'studiolo' – small study room - has been recently remodeled by Mr. Ferretto's children as a sign of esteem and a form of affection for their father. The study room is fully aligned to the original idea and concept of the house and was a place of retreat and study. The Owner filled the 'studiolo' with pieces and objects showcasing not so much material wealth, but rather an inner treasure, both spiritual and intellectual. Fine wood panels are a warm embrace of the entire study room; in front of the desk, a fireplace completes the setting.

The basement includes a cellar, an additional and useful kitchen, a large double garage and a number of spaces for storage and protection of all the machinery required for maintenance of the property. In order to increase the thermal insulation, the Architect, Mr. Bassani, and the Owner, Mr. Ferretto, agreed upon the construction of a peripheral space between walls that still guarantees, after all these years, a suitable and convincing construction solution. The house is equipped with air conditioning, while heating is supplied by thermo-convectors and radiators. Connection to the sewer system, the gas furnace and the electrical system all comply to the current regulations. A very large attic, easily accessible by means of a folding staircase, completes the available spaces of the house.
