This dreamlike and very typical Tuscan villa has been the residence of a famous Macchiaiolo painter, who built it in 1895. It is located in Crespina, a small Tuscan town close to Pisa, Lucca and a 40 min. drive away from Forte dei Marmi. Surrounded by 25 hectares of woods and one thousand olive trees, it is placed on a picturesque hill overlooking a beautiful and typical Tuscan valley with its own ponds.
There are in total three more properties located on the same piece of land of the main villa: one is a small apartment that currently is used for the janitor, another is Villa Santernetti and the third is Villa Torre Alta.
The terraced garden continues underneath the beautiful belvedere terrace and this is where the 20 meter long infinity pool has been placed.
The entire villa has fully been renovated and equipped with all technical accessories and an alarm system. Immediately when you enter this luxury villa, it is very clear that this is not only a luxury residence, but also an art gallery that reflects the artistic spirit of this place, that has once inspired the artists of the Macchiaioli movement of the 19th century.
On the ground floor we find a splendid, almost 20 meters long gallery with double entrance from which opens right by the entrance on the right a smaller frescoed dining room, that is also directly connected to the kitchen.
The kitchen is beautifully decorated but also equipped with the most modern home appliances.
On the left of the gallery opens a stunning library, furnished with a very modern sitting area. Right in front of the kitchen we find the entrance to the pièce-de-résistance of this unique villa: the very large, frescoed reception hall with beautiful real marble pillars, which is also called “La Sala delle Colonne”. It has been constructed by the present owner to be able to receive his guests in great style.
The best part of this splendid hall is, that it is fully glazed, so that the natural light makes it a very bright room, even in the winter months. And also from here you have the best view over the Tuscan countryside.
From the reception hall, you can access the very luxurious SPA-area on the basement elegantly decorated stairs. The SPA is equipped with a 37 degrees celsius heated indoor pool with a whirlpool and roman waterfall, a Finnish sauna and a changing room and shower area.
On the same floor, connected by an automatic glass door, it is possible to access the 20x6.5 m large infinity swimming pool made of precious stone with a breathtaking view over the entire valley which equally is equipped with a whirlpool and a hot outdoor shower. Next to the swimming pool a large dining table is ready for breakfasts, dinners and poolside aperitives with friends and family.
The first floor offers access to a beautiful artistic gallery and the bedrooms: the first one is the marvellous master suite with en-suite bathroom.
The second one is another finely furnished bedroom with en-suite bathroom and the third one is a guest bedroom with it’s own ensuite-bathroom. Futhermore on this floor, there are two more living areas and a dressing room as well as a panoramic terrace.
The second floor offers four more spacious bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom and the painter’s old personal studio, that has now been converted into a very cozy home cinema a wall screen and state-of-the-art hi-tech system.
Around the main villa, an elegant typical Italian-style garden has been created with well kept hedges, statues, columns which offers a beautiful belvedere overlooking the dreamlike Tuscan countryside.
The villa is also surrounded by a park of 43.000 sqm, enriched with typical Italian ornamental flowers and decorative plants like Italian jasmine and Lemon trees. Graveled walkways throughout the entire park allow walks even on hot summer days thanks to the shade provided by the 1000 olive trees and other trees.
